Before you buy
- Allshift test drive. With the car stopped and the clutch pedal down, engage reverse and first, then pull away gently. Reverse that does not engage, a jolt, or a loss of drive is a fault. A scanner is needed to read the gearbox fault memory.
- Allshift adaptation records. Ask for proof of adaptation (relearning). Kolesa.ru advises one every 20,000 km. A car with no record, or with actuator work and no adaptation, is a bad sign.
- Manual gears. With the clutch pedal down and the car stopped, shift through every gear and reverse. Gears that stick or are very hard to engage are a fault.
- Recall check. Ask a dealer to check the torque sensor campaign for the VIN.
