DIY: 2/5. Haldex, DSG and diagnostics need a workshop.
Prefer: a facelifted car with full service history, DSG and Haldex records, and a fresh inspection report.
Avoid: a 4x4 without Haldex proof.

On a 4x4, ask for Haldex oil and strainer proof. Test on a wet road; a scanner can read pump current. No rear drive means walk away.
Check rear discs for rust and scoring. Listen for a scrape at pull-away, and feel the foot brake.
Open and close the tailgate. Listen for a tired strut, test the foot sensor, check for rust at the damper mounts.
On a 2015-2016 car, test navigation, Bluetooth and the screen. Restarts mean the early MIB1 unit.
Check open campaigns by VIN with a Skoda dealer or the KBA, and ask for proof each was closed.
